This project requires individual approach towards every aspect of the work. This wasn’t a standard job, it was a project which test our skills to the limit. The whole idea was to install reclaimed boards on a plywood base and create the atmosphere of 200 years old floor combined with modern interior. The material was delivered by Lasco the UK’s number one reclaimed material deliverer. The owner required staining as well, samples were done directly on the floor. The owner approved walnut stain by Morrels. The installation process was difficult, we had to sort every single board and reduce the gaps between them as much as possible. For installing we used both screwing method and belts as well. One’s the floor was fitted we had to sand them carefully with hand sanders to remove the old patina and stains. We couldn’t use heavy sanding machines, because the idea was to preserve the antique effect of the floor.
